Votre routine de soins capillaires d'été pourrait ne pas convenir à l'hiver

If you live somewhere where winter exists, then you know what havoc it can do to your scalp and hair over those cold months. We’re talking dry, limp, static prone hair and an itchy, flakey scalp, generally all over lacklustre hair.

Between constant transitions from the harsh Winter winds to the drying indoor heaters, your hair has become more fragile, and dehydrated. Changing your hair care in the Winter to suit the change in season is crucial to maintaining healthy hair and scalp.

But I still have all these other products I need to finish before I get anything else!

We’ve heard that before. Just like dressing appropriately for the cold weather you should protect your hair just as much. Your focus should be on making your scalp happy and healthy, in particular.

During the cold months, especially those days that drop below freezing, your scalp is drier and itchier than ever, and the moisture zapping heaters can leave your hair feeling dehydrated and brittle. In Winter, our focus is on the scalp, the literal root of hair care.

It’s advised that during these months we avoid ingredients like honey or hydrolyzed wheat protein which, in the summer are perfect for their abilities to pull moisture from the air to hydrate your hair in high humidity, but in the winter it will only further dry your hair, putting your ends at risk of more damage.

Use a shampoo that nourishes your scalp and hair with a blend of active natural ingredients such as Shea Butter, a moisturizing agent that doesn’t leave a greasy residue. Camellia Extract, an antioxidant that soothes dry scalps, and Pomegranate Oil, which improves blood flow, is known to strengthen hair and is a super antioxidant.

TO112 Shampoo for Dry Hair isn’t for everyone and that’s okay, check out our Hair Care Quiz to see which products are best for your hair type.

Your routine for hair care doesn’t stop there, it’s strongly recommended that a weekly deep conditioning treatment is used to ensure you’re giving your hair a boost of strength and elasticity to restore damage from the elements. Collagen Hair Mask has keratin additives, collagen- a natural protein, and argan oil to defrizz your hair caused by winter accessories.

Use a quarter-sized amount and massage with care into your hair, mid-length to ends and leave on for 2-5 minutes, then rinse as normal.

Although our mask is great for all hair types, you may find it’s too heavy or you want to only use a conditioner. Customize your hair care routine by finding out what your specific needs are and which products will work best for you.

Post shower, always use a heat protecting Hair Cream to help with compromised hair from hot tool damage. Layered with eight benefits, this can be applied to wet or dry hair.

If your hair feels extra dry, hydrate overnight with Serum. Use a small amount and run mid-length to ends, focusing more on the ends. If more is needed to build up from there, you don’t want to over saturate your hair. If you choose to do this treatment, do not use a silk pillowcase as the oil will ruin the material.

Speaking of silk pillowcases, the gentle frictionless fabric promotes water retention in the hair and skin and hinders breakage, tangles, and frizz, unlike cotton which naturally pulls moisture from your hair giving you the reverse effect.

To preserve your blowout, loosely braid or tie your hair up in a high pony, but not too tight while you sleep.

If you’re already following this Routine for Winter Hair Care religiously and still feel like it’s not enough, invest in a humidifier for your bedroom, or consider upping your Biotin intake this season. Biotin is a vitamin known for its benefits of encouraging hair growth and promoting stronger hair.
